An update

I'm in one of those moods today. I have no idea why or where it's come from, but everything is getting to me. Like right now, am I moody because
(a) William is sitting on my lap repeating the words 'daaay-deh-deh-deh-da' while pointing furiously at a glue stick with no lid that he really wants to play with, or is it
(b) That the people next door are cementing their entire backyard* and I can't concentrate, or
(c) That the damn copyright people at the Premier's office won't hurry up and get back to me so I can publish their statistics, or
(d) It's been grey and miserable all day, or
(e) That my computer is painfully slow, and apparently I need more RAM, or
(f) I need to vacuum_again_ and I don't want to?
*May be a slight exaggeration.

Here's a photo taken last week, to depict my current mood.

Climbing

It seems we're always climbing, and this week has been no different.
Just when you think you've reached the top; you find yourself at the bottom again.
Here's a pic I took the other night at Kangaroo Point.

Tears and tantrums

Tears and tantrums are a fairly regular occurence around here. William would rather scream than talk it seems, well screaming does demand more attention I suppose.

All the little things...

What is it about all the little things that intrigue us?

The tiny things in disguise...

The moments where your mind drifts off for just a second...

That first glimpse of something special you've been waiting for...

Those (sometimes so tiny they're not really there) things
that keep us amused...

A bit of nothing really

Just thought I'd let you know we're all still here :)

I do have some cool news, but I'm waiting until I see it myself first...
something published... in a magazine.

Bonnie just loves Kindy and has had regular requests for playdates outside of Kindy. She's a popular little thing which surprises me because I thought her anaphylaxis would alienate her. She's really happy at piano now she has her old teacher back too. I can't believe she told the last teacher she didn't like her "because she's fat!" I'm so glad Scott was there.

Well I've gotta go. William is yelling at me in his strange language, and getting quite upset because I won't acknowledge him.

Garden wedding

With little help, Peter and Susie spent weeks transforming their yard into the wonder it once was. Only they could see the award winning garden under all the growth and creepy crawlies, and thankfully they did because it was transformed into the most beautiful setting for their wedding.

The garden features a boardwalk, waterfall and a gorgeous zen garden. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get any photos of the garden as I couldn't drag myself away from the fairy tent full of kids.

Some photos and video footage from the day.

Potatoes!

Scott always makes me laugh with a line from the movie 'Waterworld', only he replaces paper with potatoes...

Potatoes. Have you ever seen potatoes?

Well this is my harvest *snort* To be honest, I didn't think I was going to get anything as the plant didn't flower and the leaves had turned more yellow than green. I pulled the plants and started turning the soil in preparation for some other seeds and found this little surprise.

My garden is is all in containers, and it's been more of an experiment to see what I can get away with.

Yeah... so I bought another kite

I couldn't help it- I bought another kite. Well two actually, but I've put the other away for our christmas holiday down the Central Coast.

So this time I roped Mum into joining us, and might I just say... she's bloody dreadful at kite-flying! LOL

Just for you Mum ;)

Go little kite... Go! (Obviously mum isn't flying it this time *giggle*)

Runnin'

Eww, Bonnie had a tick on her yesterday! I've never had to pull a tick out before, and never want to again. I don't know if the bastard left it's revolting head behind or not? Anyway, there's a small red bite-like mark now and I'm hoping it just goes away so I don't have to be reminded. I'm having second thoughts about camping I can tell you! Consequently the house has been vacuumed and mopped within an inch of its life. I've sprayed everything with 'Bugger Off' and washed everything I could *shudder*

Fun at the park

So I've had this crappy old plastic kite sitting in the cupboard for ages now. I have a problem with hoarding cheapo things I pick up from the art store or $2 shop for a rainy day (or windy in this case) So I dragged Scott and the kids up to the park... well I did try flying it in our miniscule backyard but my legs got tired from all the running around trying to get the thing airborne.

After hogging the kite for a good ten minutes, Bonnie was able to wrestle it from my grip.

... and I've got it back again (in background with half my body missing)
I've created a monster! I now want a bigger and better kite!

My baby turns 2

So my baby has reached the grand old age of two. That's it... no more baby.
It won't be long before he pushes my cuddles away with his grubby little hands *sigh*

William was my VBAC baby, and we made it hospital just before he arrived some 6 hours after the first contraction. No drugs, no needles, no being strapped to a hospital bed. We stayed the minimum stay at hospital of 6 hours, and we were home the same day by 6pm.

Some of fave pics...

Check out his passport photo! I loved his spiky hair.

Extracurricular activities

Because Bonnie has anaphylaxis* and suffered some pretty scary reactions from trace amounts of allergens on her skin, we kept her in a bubble for some time. It's only really been this year that we've introduced her to outside activities.

Here she is with William at her Kindy's Teddy Bear Picnic

She started learning piano at around 3.5, and at almost 4.5 she received her first trophy!

She was the youngest student at the concert! Teaching is usually from 5 years and up, but Bonnie has proved otherwise. Very cute watching her set her book on the piano, and listen to her read the notes aloud before playing them. Their teaching method is 'point, play, say' so our house is regularly filled with a little something like this...

"C, D, E, Rest, C2, D2. WILLIAM! Mu-um William won't let me play!"

* Bonnie has severe allergies to milk protein and all nuts. She did have allergies to soy and eggs but they appear to have subsided. She is classed as anaphylactic, and carries and Epipen Jnr with her at all times.
